The communal area of The Sunningdale underwent an extensive refurbishment for 2007, with the aim of providing guests with the use of a modern and relaxing lounge, breakfast room and restaurant during their stay with us.

Our lounge is a beautiful bright room with comfortable sofas and more formal seating where you can relax throughout the day, with cakes on a lunch time, meals and a glass of wine on an evening, and enjoy reading the morning papers with your breakfast.

Our restaurant ‘A Taste of Northumberland’ has a stunning glass ceiling enabling you to watch the evening draw in (or more recently a spectacular lightening display courtesy of the heavens) as you enjoy something from our superb menu We specialise in delicious home made food using local ingredients, with features such as local fish, lamb and steaks as well  as some fine desserts which our chef creates without a care for the waistline!   Our restaurant offers a menu for children with popular and nutritious options available.

Breakfast at The Sunningdale is served buffet style and is a peaceful relaxed experience from 8am to 10.30am, offering you a superb wide and varied selection to set you up for the day, with traditional hot foods of Bamburgh Bangers, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes,  as well as cereals, breads, fresh fruit, yoghurts and pastries.
